Some verbs can be both: dynamic & state


SEE - dynamic ( visit 'I'M SEEING MY DOCTOR ON FRIDAY AT 3 PM' and date 'John is seeing Mary')

SEE - state (ability to see 'I can see blue sky', understand 'I see')


SMELL/TASTE - dynamic (She is smelling the flowers", 'We are tasting ice-cream')

SMELL/TASTE - state ('Coffee smells delicious', 'The soup tastes weird')


THINK - dynamic (thoughts, ideas 'I'm thinking about my next trip")

THINK - state (opinion 'I think the weather will be warmer tomorrow')


HAVE - dynamic (action 'I'm having lunch now') have a shower, have a rest

HAVE -state (own, possess 'I have a dog') I have many friends.


FEEL - dynamic (I feel well today or I'm feeling well today.)

FEEL - state (opinion ' I feel we should go', I feel we need to practice it more.)

LOOK - dynamic (phrasal verbs 'I'm looking at the tree' ' I'm looking for my keys'

LOOK - state (appearance, feelings 'You look sad today', She looks confused.)
